Create the fastlane directory & plugin
Last updated 2026-10-07
Create the fastlane directory and register the Firebase App Distribution plugin. The plugin provides the firebase_app_distribution action that the Android lanes call.
Step 1: Create the directory and Pluginfile
New-Item -ItemType Directory -Path fastlaneNew-Item -ItemType File -Path fastlane\PluginfileStep 2: Add the Firebase plugin
Add the plugin to fastlane/Pluginfile. Pinning the version keeps upload behaviour stable across machines:
fastlane/Pluginfile
gem "fastlane-plugin-firebase_app_distribution", "1.0.0"Your project now looks like this:
<project-root>/
├── android/
├── ios/
├── package.json
├── fastlane/
│ └── Pluginfile
├── Gemfile
└── .ruby-version
Note: don't run
fastlane init and don't create the Fastfile by hand. The Fastfile and lib/ come from the framework (see Quickstart).Official documentation
